Dianne Hartsock on Naughty Willies...Yes, that's right!

Today I have Dianne Hartsock visiting with me. She is lovely and wonderful and magnificent and...yes I am graveling because I accidentally forgot to post this last Wednesday. Darn my forgetfulness. Hopefully Dianne can forgive me? *bats lashes*
Anywho she is sharing with us a little about what a Naughty Nursery Rhyme is and about her recent release that falls into this VERY naughty category....

A Naughty Nursery Rhyme
Naughty Nursery Rhyme. Don't you just love that name? Brings to mind delicious decadence and sweet delights and nights of passion.
When I was a child we had a huge book of Mother Goose Rhymes. Loved the pictures. Thought the rhymes were a trifle boring. Little did I know that to my delight they'd become some of my favorite reads!
After indulging in a few of the NNR by my fellow Breathless Press authors, I just had to try my hand at one. But how could I turn one of those silly childish stories into something wonderfully wicked? Which one to pick?
My favorite, Wee Willie Winkie, came to mind.

Wee Willie Winkie runs through the town,
Up stairs and down stairs in his night-gown,
Tapping at the window, crying at the lock,
Are the children in their bed, for it's past ten o'clock?

Yes, I snickered at the title but simply couldn't be mean enough to make Willie, well…little down there. Too cruel, even for a very naughty story. So I made him a little shorter than average, but absolutely delectable. My hero Fredrick can't resist Willie's blue eyed, cherubic, irreverent self.
As for why Willie is running through the town in his night-gown… I decided to have my story take place in the 1880's, when men still wore night-gowns. And on this particular night, Willie has slightly more to drink than is good for him, and can't help being especially loud when looking for his lover.
Yes, Fredrick and Willie fall in love. But the question is, will Fredrick be enough for Willie to give up his life of privilege for?
WEE WILLIE WINKIE

Blurb:

For the past three years William Wilkerson has led the life of the privileged rich. Head of his father’s shipping business, Willie indulges in the pleasures of Boston’s fine young men to his heart’s content. That is, until he meets Fredrick,, the one man who has captured his heart , again.
As his former tutor, Fredrick has been declared off limits by William’s father. Fredrick also believes he's beneath the attention of Wilkerson’s heir. Willie disagrees, but is he willing to throw away rank and privilege for the man he loves?

Excerpt:

"Please, join me. It's so nice to see you."
At his urging, Fredrick settled into the cushioned booth while William drew the curtains closed once again. "No one cares who's back here, as long as they don't see it," he explained at Fredrick's questioning look. William slipped onto the bench beside him, and without a thought Fredrick clasped the vibrant body to his chest and returned his light kiss. His hold tightened, but William didn't seem to mind. He wound his arms around Fredrick's neck and licked Fredrick's lips, his sweet tongue seeking entrance.
Fredrick laughed, breathless with the need that swept him. He moved his head back, denying the kisses sure to topple the defenses he'd built against this man, and chuckled at William's delectable pout. "You promised not to tease me."
"That was years ago. I made no promises today." William nibbled at his lips but eased away when Fredrick resisted. Fredrick kept his hands on his slim waist, reluctant to let him go. Memories stirred at the slide of silk under his fingers, images of cool sheets and creamy skin. He longed to run his tongue down the exposed flesh of William's chest, revisit the delights he'd enjoyed, once upon a time.
"How is the Lord Wilkerson these days?" he asked instead, throwing that barrier between them. A shutter seemed to close on William's eyes; his gaze became less warm. In sudden panic, Fredrick took hold of William's hand and kissed his fingers, afraid William would walk away. "Forgive me. This is hard for me."
He trembled when William ran his hand over Fredrick's curls, tangled fingers in his hair. "For me as well, darling. I had no idea you lived in Boston."
"Or you would have stayed away?" Fredrick regretted the jealous words the instant they left his lips and looked aside to hide the blush he knew reddened his face. He always played the fool with William.
William sat up, straightened his blouse. "My father's been ill for some time. I've taken control of the shipping portion of the estate and come in from time to time to check the wares from the Orient. We've had some damaged goods recently, but my presence at the docks seems to deter clumsiness."
"Of course." Fredrick chewed his lips as he searched for something to say, his heart heavy.
William touched his chin, turning his face. His eyes were kind. "And what is my former professor doing in this wild town?"
Fredrick shrugged, not about to tell him he'd run as far from William as he could when Lord Wilkerson had humiliated and dismissed him. "I've been tutoring Lord Anadaile's daughter."
"For truth? That must be hell on earth. A more spoiled child I've yet to meet."
"She has a good heart, but this position is soon over anyway. Cynthia comes of age next month with her debutant party in June. No need for me after that."
A laugh at the far end of the room caught their attention. As if recalling his state of undress, William buttoned his blouse and tucked it into the tight blue trousers. Fredrick groaned inwardly as he recalled doing similar service for William after an afternoon spent undressing him.
William gave him a brilliant smile as if sharing the memory. White teeth nibbled a plump lip. "Will you have a drink with me at the club?"
Longing almost overcame discretion, but the barrier of their positions couldn't be ignored, by either side. "Forgive me. I'm not dressed appropriately for your friends."
William's beautiful eyes widened as if seeing the frayed brown suit he wore for the first time. Fredrick's heart warmed. William had the fine trait of seeing a man behind his outward trappings. Rank held little interest for him.
He watched in fascination as a blush tinted William's porcelain cheeks. William stared at his clasped hand, and his words started an ache in Fredrick's chest. "Damn convention, and society can go to hell. I've missed you, Freddie. I want to see you. Not at the club and not here." A flirtatious glance. "Can't bring scandal to my favorite tutor."
"It's better we don't—"
"Probably." William stood from the bench, then bent and kissed Fredrick full on the mouth. A sweet tongue slid passed his lips to tangle with his, tasting and teasing. Caught unawares, Fredrick opened to him, drowned in memories of sultry afternoons, bodies twined. William's scent surrounded him, spiced with tobacco and whiskey and expensive cologne. Underneath, the heady fragrance of heated skin.
Fredrick groaned as lust swamped his defenses; his cock swelled to life for its lover, ached for the touch it had missed for too many lonely nights. He returned William's kiss with fervor, forgetting where they were, his position, everything but the need to taste again this man he loved with all his being.
William broke off their kiss and leaned against the table, his chest heaving. They stared at it each other while Fredrick caught his breath. Dearest Lord! William stood before him, everything he desired in life, intelligent and beautiful. His full lips glistened with their kiss. Mine! Fredrick's heart broke while agony twisted in his gut. He had nothing to offer the eldest son of one of New England's finest families. He'd known that three years ago. Nothing had changed his circumstances.
William had always been able to read him, and he set his pretty lips in a firm line. "I'm in Boston through the week. I want to see you, Freddie. Please don't be cruel. Meet me at the pier in two hours."
"But—"
His protest went unheard. With a flash of anger in his hazel eyes, William threw open the curtains and left him sitting there.

Michaela Rhua on Guardian Awakening and Hidden Lives...

Happy Hump Day everyone! Today I have the fantabulous Michaela Rhua visiting, telling us a little bit about her new (and already best selling) release! Not to mention her hidden life. Now if that's not intriguing...I don't know what is...

Hello Megan.

Thank you for inviting me to visit your blog. I must say as a relative newcomer to the world of writing, the support from other writers such as you has been tremendous. Breathless Press who published my book called Guardian Awakening have been fabulous too!

I want to briefly talk about hidden lives, a topic that keeps coming to mind. You see I try to keep my writing side away from the everyday me. I like having something that is just mine, away from the everyday. Often when I am with friends who are not hugely close, I wonder what they would think of their friend writing sensual fiction as I do! Then I smiles at my own secret.

Romy in Guardian Awakening, has a hidden life. She has tried very hard to move away from her past, particularly her family. Their way was not something she was willing to follow so she had to make that heart breaking choice to leave all that behind and start again. The only thing with trying to keep something 'hidden' is that it can have a way of coming out. I might after a few too many red wines blurt out what I write, when friend are going on about the evils of erotic tales etc. That will really let the cat out the bag.

Romy has tried to live her own life and make her own choices. Only she did not bargain on Essen looking for her. They meet and there is a connection, something they both cannot deny. Only he is keeping something from her too. As you would expect it all comes out, when Essen has to make a choice.

I will leave the readers to discover the rest!

I am delighted to say that it is a bestseller with All Romance Ebooks! YAY!

Here is the blurb.

When a runaway meets a Guardian out for revenge, two worlds collide. Can love conquer all, or is their relationship doomed before it even started?

Essen is out for revenge, and exotic dancer Romy is his target. After the struggle for control of the Gateway between the human world and the supernatural world brings tragedy, this Guardian Demon will stop at nothing to get what he wants: retribution! From the moment they first meet, sparks fly between them, and they cannot deny the connection they have, even if she seems to be hiding her true identity.
But how is this possible when they are from two different worlds? Can their love overcome the tormented history that divides them? When Romy is kidnapped, Essen must face his true feelings before it's too late.

Excerpt
She slowly walked across to the sound system and chose a track to dance to. Sometimes customers liked to choose their own music, but he had not done so. She selected R. Kelly's "Ignition." The beat kicked in, and Romy dropped her hip to the right, stepped back, and dropped her hip to the left. She swung round with her hands on her breasts, eyes half-closed, and really got into it. The music took over; she gyrated her hips toward him, and she slid her hands up and down her body. She wove her body back around to him and bent forward, giving him a great view of her ass as she brought her hands up to separate her cheeks and quickly let go. Spinning around again, she bounced to the music, knowing her breasts were the star of the show for this bit. She let her hands wander between her legs and into her black panties before moving her hand out and pinging the elastic.
The whole time she maintained as much eye contact as she could. Licking her lips often and moving forward, she put her breasts as close as she could without touching. Turning around she placed her hands on his legs and felt firm thighs. She sat in his lap and ground her ass into his obvious erection. The movements were meant to arouse the customer into paying for more time. Some even climaxed, which was why there were tissues and wipes under the table. This time she found herself lost to the music, and the contact with his jeans-clad cock sent jolts throughout her body. She touched herself in time with the rhythm, getting aroused as the heat between them rose. Romy had never felt so good dancing for anyone before.
This was when some customers lost control and tried to make a grab. So she got up and strutted to the door. She spun on the spot and spread her arms, draping herself across the door, swinging her hips so her ass was rubbing against the wood behind her. The rubbing action caused him to shift his position. She knew he was trying to make his hard cock more comfortable in his jeans. His blues eyes sparkled, and she could see he was clenching his jaw; his hands were fisted at his sides. She danced closer to the door, hips swinging, ass at all angles, and breasts squeezed together. The track went into fade, and Romy gradually stopped, smiling her "were you happy with that" smile, and stood still.
That had been amazing; she had never felt so alive, so eager to show herself to a man before. He stood up slowly. Then he walked over to her, his movements that of a prowling animal. The bulge in his trousers was obvious. Romy took a step back and hit the door, and she gulped. He was huge next to her; in her heels she stood at five feet ten inches, but he was well over six feet with huge shoulders, blond, shoulder-length hair, and a stubbled chin. He reached into his jacket pocket, pulled out a few notes, and hooked them into her red lace bra. That brief touch sent sparks through, her straight to her clit. He was so close; she could feel his warmth and longed to be closer still. He took a deep breath as though he were inhaling her scent, and she groaned inwardly.
Leaning forward he said, "Thank you, Romy."
His hot breath fanned her neck. She gazed up at him. How did he know my name?

Zara Stoneley Shares 7 Things We Must Know!

Today I have the pleasure of visiting with Zara Stoneley. She is going to be sharing with us 7 things we MUST know about the heroine, Holly, in her recent release: Good Enough to Share. Take it away Zara!

Hi Megan, and thanks so much for letting me stop by your blog today. Well, you asked if there were seven things that everyone should know about one of the characters in Good Enough to Share and as seven is one of my lucky numbers it seemed apt.
I decided to tell you all about Holly, because the story is mainly about her (the next in the series, ‘Good Enough to Trust’ is Sophie’s story).

So, here goes….

1. Holly loves cowboys, unfortunately living in the UK there aren’t many of them about. Until now the closest she’s got to her ideal man was one on the big screen, starring in a movie, until that is she met Dane. He has the body, the boots, the love of horses and a certain swagger about him that she finds very hard to resist.

2. She’s a geek. She’s got a degree in IT and loves playing with gadgets and games.

3. Her first husband, James, led a double life. The man she knew was a city guy who worked hard and went home happy to his wife each night, but then she found out that he was very good at playing hard as well. Without her.

4. When she got divorced and moved to the country the first thing she did was buy a horse. Something she’d always wanted, but James had been in favour of city living and no fur or feathers.

5. She likes chocolate, a lot, but even more so after she’s shared a jar of chocolate spread with Dane.

6. Being with her friends makes her realise she’s never been truly close to anyone, close enough to share sadness as well as laughter.

7. She hates emotions and talking through problems, she’s been brought up to think things through on her own. So, she’s more likely to put her hands over her ears than join in when things heat up between the friends.

BLURB:

GOOD ENOUGH TO SHARE (Good Enough, Part 1 - Christmas)
An erotic contemporary romance, including menage, F/M/F, M/F/M and sex outdoors.

One Christmas, four friends - will they still be together by New Year?
Divorce wasn’t part of the plan for Holly, but then again nor was spending the festive period with two sexy men and Santa’s little helper! With a disastrous marriage behind her, and three good friends who are willing to share, moving on could be fun – if only she can accept that sometimes her heart is wiser than her head.
Dane doesn’t do commitment, which suits Holly just fine. But when things heat up between the four friends, he’s forced to face up to his past. Will realising he’s good enough mean he no longer wants to share…?
Laid back Charlie knows that if his best friend becomes his lover he could end up losing big time. But can he resist? And when the girl he once loved comes back, who will he decide to spend the New Year with?
…And Sophie just wants to have fun. She’s got the answers to everyone's problems, except her own …. is she the one who needs good friends most of all?
Will a caring, sharing, lust and love filled Christmas lead to the happy ever after they all desire?

WARNING - Christmas may never seem the same again!

Leona Bushman on Writing, Mothering and...Green Eggs? I mean A GIVEAWAY!

Please welcome the lovely Leona Bushman. Today she is sharing with us about her personal life where she must wear many hats to get through the day as a mother of many, and a writer who has hit a rough patch, which happens to the best of us!
She is also doing a GIVEAWAY!! See bottom of this post for details!

I've been working on a sequel forever. Okay, not forever, but for a year. That's a long time for me. By now, it should be 150k words long going by my rate of writing. But, I got stuck. Things changed. I have five kids, three at home, the youngest with Down Syndrome, all of them with Asthma, and we've been through the wringer. This has led me to believe that I could write anywhere, anytime. Well, that's mostly true.

I've written on a plane, on a train, in the air, in a car, I do not like green eggs…oh, wait, that's another story. I've written at Costco, Taco Bell, McDonalds, gas stations, parks, rooms, on laptops, tablets, computers, etc. But, since getting The Ulfric's Mate under contract, I've developed a system, which I've still followed at various places, still a system.

Then, I lost my editor. *cue dark dangerous music here*

She had to quit for personal reasons. I understand. I do. But I lost my way. Funny in the odd, definitely not a laughing matter sort of way, that I'd managed to write literally hundreds of thousands of words before I had an editor, then after having an editor for like nine months, I'm lost without her?

I don't know when it happened, but she'd become my talisman. When those around me didn't believe, I told myself, "She does!" Or when life threatened to take over my writing time, I told myself, "I can't let her down."

So I floundered. I wrote shorts for anthologies or special calls, like Naughty Nursery Rhymes and the Holiday series. It worked out well. I released Rick Sexed Up the Doc in November, and The Captain's Christmas in December. I have a story in Crimson due out in March, and in Serviced shortly after that.

But I haven't finished my sequel.

I have written nearly 50k on the next two in the series, with ideas for the third, but nothing's finished. Well, this month, I got my head out of my asterick and got serious. I've made some edits, added a scene with notes for another scene and how I need to pump up the action in a fight scene. *spoilers :D*

What did I learn? That I'm a superstitious and stuck in my writing ruts as the next writer. My rut is just a little crazier. LOL So, in the spirit of getting this sequel done, I'm going to give you a taste test and feel free to tell me what you think.

In the meantime, you can get The Ulfric's Mate here:

Breathless Press where you can get any format you wish to.

The sequel, tentatively titled The Midwife's Moon, is part of The War of the Weres series (The anthology Ravaged has a prequel that introduces the werebears and a couple of characters.)

Lisa, our main character is purposefully made into a werewolf and abandoned to deal with it alone. This is from the scene of her first change.

Deeper into the green woods she tracked, her wolf telling her she didn't need to worry, she would find her way home the same way she came. The silvery moon peeked through the tree branches as if to watch over her new child of the night. Lisa found a newfound comfort in the darkness, a sense of safety she wouldn't have felt in her human form.

She forgot, for the moment, that even wolves have their predators.

How many miles she trekked looking for her lover, she never knew. On she went. The crisp air, the scuttle of rodents, the wing song of the night owls surrounding her, comforting her wolf, letting her know she was safe. But fatigue caught up with her. She needed to eat. Joseph's scent winded around after the initial straight path from the clearing and she didn't have enough experience to tell the freshest trail from the oldest one.

Hunger gnawed at her ribs. Her mind's focus changed and the smell of fresh meat tainted the air. Lifting her noise, she sniffed twice. It was close. Saliva dripped from her jaw and she broke into an uneven run in the direction of the meat. There!

She pounced on the meat, put one paw on it, and jerked a huge hunk of bloody red flesh into her mouth. So satisfying. Her human mind rebelled at the goodness, but the wolf won the day. She put more pressure on the meat to hold it in place for tearing. Something clicked, then snapped as ragged pain tore through her forepaw still on the meat.

Hard metal encased her paw in jagged teeth meant to entrap. Inside she cried tears of pain until she could stand the silence no more and howled. The sound vibrated in the hills, the morose cry as lonely as her heart.

She pulled against the metal, trying to use her other foreleg to push the teeth far enough apart to get her injured leg out. But she tried to use her wolf paws the same way as she would use her human hands. Panic started to swell, the beast in a trap. Hunters and other animals of the night, which she recalled with sudden clarity, might get her at any time.

Hadn't someone mentioned cougar sightings lately? In her panic, she couldn't remember where. Panting, her tongue lolled out the side. As the frantic need to be free welled up into panic, she began to gnaw on her leg. She had to get out of the trap. But fatigue combined with blood loss caused her to pass out before she'd freed herself. As she lost consciousness, she thought a shadow moving toward her as her eyes swayed shut against her will.

Now for the GIVEAWAY! If we reach ten commenters--Leona will GIVE AWAY a copy of The Ulfric's Mate! Yay! So, get to commenting and please share with your friends!
