Drowning in Rapture: New Adult Erotic Romance

Hey y'all! Soo I've been having some issues when it comes to inspiration in my writing (I blame college for sucking the life out of me, lol). I was having a lot of trouble with my WIP so I decided to step out of my box a little and write something totally different for me. I had a lot of fun writing this novella. It is my first time to write in 1st person (I usually write in 3rd person). This is also probably the darkest thing I've written, in my opinion.
I don't have a date nailed down on when I'm to release it, but be looking for it sometime this December.

Drowning in Rapture
New Adult Erotic Romance

Blurb:
I didn’t plan to become a stripper that performs live sex shows for money.
But that’s what happened. It’s what I do, and I’m good at it.

I was going to go on and do something with my life. I was going to be something more than just a piece
of ass.
But that’s not how it worked it out.

Men don’t control me. Not anymore. Not until he came into my life.

I don’t want lose myself and drown in another man. But I’m afraid it’s already too late.

**This book is intended for mature audiences only due to graphic depictions of sex and bad language.

Special thanks to the awesome Najla Qamber Designs for my AWESOME cover! <33

Doin' the DIRTY in Romance Novels Today

I have to decided to talk about sex today.

(I actually talk about sex most days. ;) I'm a creep I know.)

image

But on a serious level--Sex is a staple in most romance novels these days. Especially since Erotica has become extremely popular in the last couple of years. Not to mention to Fifty Shades craze that brought BDSM into the hot popularity mixtures.

Here's how I feel about sex in books today.

Haha, okay, so I'm being creepy again...but really, I like to read books that have sex in them. (Of course I also enjoy  writing them too :)) I like books that embrace the sexuality of its characters. I believe it is more realistic, because that's what people do in real life.
Of course this isn't to say that I only read contemporary. I have particular love for a good contemporary erotic romance, but I also love paranormal books where there IS sex.
I don't care for books where the main characters do the dirty right away (in most cases).
I like it when everyone is damaged and broken and they have to work really fucking hard to make it work. (Pardon my inappropriateness, lol)
I also dislike people who have sex in dreams that end up being real (AKA they traveled to some sort of weird dream realm outside of their knowledge and had actual sex they thought wasn't real.)
They wake and are all like..."Woah, that was the best sex I've ever had...too bad it WASN'T real."

So, anywho...that's how I feel.
What's a girl to do with all these emotions besides write a kinky blog post? ;)

SO, what I want to know...is how you feel about it. That's right, I want your opinion on sex in books today. What do you like? What do you not like? What is a must-have when it comes to reading a good romance for you? I'm dying to know.

Cinder is not just another pretty face. He aspires to be his own man, but finds himself longing to belong to another man.
Cinder never thought that he could rise from the ashes of his life, but an unexpected encounter with a woman claiming to be his fairy godmother may be just what he needs. Finding himself flung into his very own fairy tale, she sends him off to meet his Prince Charming. But was the gown really necessary?

Excerpt:

Cinder glanced around. Paper lanterns floated in the trees, lined the walks, and graced the gazebo near the reflecting pool, giving the grounds a mystical air. Their warm glow caught the dancing jets of the fountain splashing merrily to his right. The musical, crystalline tones carried on the night wind’s breath. He was reminded of the enchanted gardens in the fairy tales his father had read to him when he was a child. What would happen to him if he dared walk there?

Henri led him toward the gazebo. Soon he would find out.

The cool breeze caressed his uncovered neck. Cinder shivered at the ethereal touch. Henri turned to him, the question clear in his eyes, but he didn’t know how to answer. Instead he breathed in the tangible scent of rich earth and flowing water, hoping to calm his bounding heart.

Henri lightly stroked his arm. Cinder’s breath caught at the silky brush of the other man’s fingers. He drew another shaky breath. Henri may have meant to soothe him; instead his touch set Cinder’s wayward body aflame.

They left the last of the courtiers behind as they entered the dim interior of the fanciful pavilion. Vines climbed its intricately carved posts, perfuming the air within. The music and voices of the aristocrats faded away. Only a single intrepid nightingale could be heard over the cheerful burbling of the fountain. Hidden from the rest of the court, an unworldly sense of peace filled him. Was his very own fairy tale about to come true?

Bespelled and bemused, he could feel the magic in every beat of his heart, in every trembling breath he drew.

Once inside the bower, Henri reached to cup Cinder's cheek. Unused to being touched, he nearly flinched away but managed to still, heart pounding, before giving himself away. The older man's thumb slid across his cheekbone and came to rest lightly on his mouth. Why did he want to lean into that caress?

The other man's warm, slightly musky scent filled his nostrils, drowning his senses.

Henri's other hand wrapped around his waist and drew him close. He leaned closer while tipping Cinder's face upwards. Cinder's breath left him in a rush, stirring the noble’s hair. Henri was all that he could see, his mouth slowly, carefully descending toward Cinder’s. If he allowed this, the other man might discover his deception. He couldn’t risk that, so why then did he ache to feel Henri’s kiss? Their lips brushed, light as thistle down.

Surprisingly, Henri's mouth was soft and warm upon his own. After a moment, it pressed more firmly against his. Something fluttered in his chest, trying to get out.

Cinder didn't think to pull away until he felt Henri's tongue seeking entrance. The hand on his face slipped to his nape and held firm. He froze in shock, not even daring to breathe, as flames rushed through his body. The very beat of his heart betrayed him.

The questing tongue stroked his lips and pushed between them. It slid over his teeth, seeking to enter. When he protested, Henri swept in and began a lazy, sensuous exploration that left him breathless.

Soon he found himself returning the caress. Henri responded to his fledgling attempts by pulling him closer and moaning into his mouth. He had never experienced anything so sensual and erotic. He fed his own needy pleas to the other man one at a time.

Finally they separated slightly, Cinder panting heavily, trying to catch his breath. Was Henri as affected by their kiss as he was? A quick glance confirmed Cinder was not alone in his arousal. Flushed and gasping, Henri gazed at him with eyes full of wonder and something unnamed smoldering in their depths.

Raven McAllan on Love Stories and not Growing Old Gracefully.

Today I have the pleasure of enjoying the wonderful Raven McAllan. Sit down, get comfy and listen while Raven tells us about not growing old gracefully and her sexy new release: Teaching Teacher.

Raven: A few (well a few more than a few) years ago, we were on holiday, visiting our daughter who was having a gap year in New Zeland. (I must say I do the love the way all my kids took time to go abroad, China, New Zeland and Australia are great places to visit.) For some reason the talk turned to tattoos.
"I thought about getting one." (daughter)
"So did I." (me)
"Oh I was thinking of getting you a voucher for one, but didn't." (dh to me)
Two female faces looked at one male one in astonishment.
He laughed. I forgot about it, until our wedding anniversary came around.
My present was a voucher to a well-known Tattoo parlor.
I gulped. I mean it's one thing talking about it, another thing going through with it. I know I've always said I refuse to grow old gracefully, and that still stands but I don't do pain.
So how come a couple of months later was I doing what I call Yoga breathing (think long deep calming breaths), leaning forward in a special chair and enduring lots of tiny pain-pricks on my bum?
I booked the appointment, made sure what I wanted imprinted on me for ever was as it should be. (I wasn't going to risk having I love Elvis or some such thing on me when I really wanted a tiny rose or some such thing…no I'm not telling what I really got.)
So combined with my ankle chain, and often arsy attitude, I've decided I'm not growing old gracefully… not at all.
Take writing, It took me a long while to realize my voice is not sweet and delicate. Oh no… it's hot, spicy and well you'll have to decide that for yourselves.
I always knew I had to write love stories of some sort. Love, in all its guises is a part of each and every one of us, whether we choose to admit it or not.

Someone asked me how I, as a hetero woman could write a romance about two men. Well, a love story is just that. Well no not just that, but seriously, whether you're talking about men, women, both, or lots, if you're exploring their emotions and how they interact, you're exploring their feelings. And sometimes that's love.

Teaching Teacher is a love story. The love affair between two men, from differing backgrounds, but with one common goal. For their love to have a chance to grow and succeed. Do they manage it? You'll have to read the book to find out. To tickle your fancy here's the blurb and an excerpt…

Finding love in a new town had not been in Seb's plans. But life has a tendency to throw you curveballs – like Ruari.

When the new head teacher walks into his bar, Ruari knows he has to have him, and damn the consequences. When lust turns to love, nothing else matters. Together they will overcome, no matter what. Or will circumstances drive them apart?

Have I got you interested yet?

Here's an excerpt… (Adults only)

Coffee or merlot?”

“Er, is either of them a euphemism?” Seb raised an eyebrow. Ruari choked as Seb went on. “Because I’d like a glass of merlot, and I’m fucking sure I’d love the euphemism.”

“I’m fucking sure we both would,” Ruari said frankly. “Not yet, though. First we’ll have the merlot. I’ll tell you a little bit more about my weird and, er, some would say wonderful family. Then you can decide if you still want to have the euphemism. If you do, great. If you don’t, no hard feelings. Well, maybe.”

Seb took the glass of wine Ruari handed over and then pulled him down so they could sit close together. “Surely, it can’t be that bad?” Seb asked.

“I’ll let you make your own mind up.” Ruari fortified his courage with a healthy swallow of the smooth liquid. It tasted of walnuts and spices. He relished the warmth that spread as it slid down his throat. As the last flavor left his taste buds, he took a deep breath.

Seb put a finger over his mouth. “Nope, enough already. Let’s just see where these tingles and hard cocks are taking us. Hopefully not to anymore cold showers. Hell, it’s a wonder I’m not shriveled to the size of a chipolata instead of hot, hard, and throbbing.”

Ruari burst out laughing. “You too? Thank God. I thought I was the only sappy one. I wasn’t going to jerk off until...well...”

“You decided I was a jerk or not? Yeah, me too, so are we jerks, jerking, or joining?”

Ruari shook his head, amused at the pair of them, and had an- other sip of wine. He could see Seb watching the play of his throat as he swallowed. He imagined it was Seb’s cum he was swallowing; he could almost taste and smell its salty flavor and scent. He cleared his throat rapidly. “So in the interest of not causing any droughts, human or otherwise?”
